Dr. Paula Schanck
Veterinarian / OwnerDr. Schanck and her husband Craig opened Southfork Animal Hospital on April 10, 1989. They moved to our current location in 2003. Completed her undergrad at the Univeristy of Wisconsin – River Falls. She received her DVM from the University of Minnesota. Her professional interests include skin and ears, as well as caring for cats. Dr. Schanck and Craig have been married for 32 years. They have two children, a cat – Oliver, and a dog – Casey.

Dr. Katherine Belisle
VeterinarianDr. Belisle completed her undergrad and DVM from the University of Minnesota. She joined the SFAH team in July, 2000. Dr. Belisle’s professional interests include exotic medicine: treating birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. Dr. Belisle and her two daughters share their home with 5 cats, 2 dogs, 3 birds, and fish. She enjoys gardening, jewelry making, and alternative healing.
Dr. Erin Wrecza
VeterinarianDr. Wrecza received her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota in 2003. She previously worked as a veterinarian in St. Joseph, MN. Her special interests are feline and canine medicine, as well as surgery and dental procedures. She lives with her husband, three children, and Decorah (“Cora”) the Bernese Mountain Dog.
Dr. Kimberly Lentz
VeterinarianDr. Lentz completed her undergrad and DVM at Iowa State University. She has been apart of the SFAH team since 2013. Dr. Lentz has advanced training in pain management and is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. Her professional interests include pain management and nurturing the human-animal bond. Dr. Lentz and her husband have a 3 legged Cocker Spaniel – Buddy. Her hobbies include yoga, kickboxing, reading, and spending time with family.
Dr. Lucy Hancock
VeterinarianDr. Hancock completed her undergrad at University of Wisconsin – River Falls. She received her DVM from the University of Minnesota in 2018. Dr. Hancock did an externship with Southfork Animal Hospital during her clinical rotations and officially joined the SFAH team in June 2018. Dr. Hancock’s professional interests include geriatric medicine, pain management and hospice/palliative care, as well as exotic medicine. Dr. Hancock and her husband have two dog s- Mika and Roxy, a Miniature Pot-Bellied Pig – Sebastian, and two goats – Freddy and Mabel. Her hobbies include spending time outdoors, and being with family and friends.
