As we are putting the finishing touches on our celebration event, I am reflecting on being a veterinarian in Lakeville for the past 30 years. How many people can say their career is the exact job that they always wanted to do?  I wanted to be a veterinarian since high school and I knew I wanted to be a business owner early on in Vet School.  I have been fortunate to have found such a vibrant community and to be able to surround myself with a hardworking and dedicated team.   I am humbled and beyond grateful for the trust people have placed in us all these years.  Even though the changes I have seen in the profession are mind-blowing, there still are similarities.

I love my job because of these three stories: I was chatting with a gal who said she teaches with a team who mostly brings their pets to us.  One gal lives in Prior Lake and was asked “You drive way over her to go to the vet?” and she replied, “My parents brought our dog there so it made sense for us to go there as well”. A young mom who has 2 dogs and 2 young kids were in and we were marveling at how well her dog’s fur looked after his allergy treatment. She lived in my neighborhood and was 1 year old when we opened.  A man was in with his dog for an exam and commented on our 30 years.  I had a picture of him in our old facility 4 dogs ago.

Thank you, and we hope to see you at our upcoming event!
